Why LiveNow exists

LiveNow is an independent, open-data project that visualises how the world's population changes. Every figure is derived from published World Bank estimates, and every page shows the exact formula used, because we believe a live counter that hides its method is a trick, not information.

What we are — and are not

We are a visualisation of demographic data. We are not a census, and nobody on Earth counts births and deaths in real time; sites that imply otherwise are interpolating, exactly as we do — the difference is that we say so.

LiveNow is operated by Aleksandar Gavric. Questions, corrections and data requests are welcome via the contact page.

Funding

The site is free to read. To cover hosting and data tooling it may display advertising served by Google AdSense; advertising never influences the numbers, which come solely from the cited sources.
